Depois de quase dois meses sem disputar uma partida no Palmeiras, Lucas Lima voltou a se sentir útil sob o comando de Mano Menezes. Um dos jogadores que o técnico tem tido mais cuidado para recuperar, o meia acirrou a briga por uma vaga na equipe titular com Gustavo Scarpa para o jogo de domingo, contra o Atlético-MG.

No treino de quinta, Mano escalou a equipe com 13 jogadores, incluindo os dois armadores. Enquanto Scarpa, titular em todas as seis partidas do atual comandante, é um meia que finaliza mais – e já tem 11 gols no ano -, Lucas gosta de articular com toques rápidos e movimentação.

Quando questionado sobre o camisa 20, o técnico palmeirense diz querer fazê-lo jogar como na época de Santos, onde teve seus melhores momentos no Brasil. Tanto que Lucas Lima entrou em todos os cinco jogos que esteve à disposição – só ficou fora contra o Fluminense por suspensão.

Contra CSA e Inter, os duelos mais recentes, teve desempenho elogiado, participando inclusive de gols – no Beira-Rio, deu o passe para Bruno Henrique no lance anulado já no fim da partida. Na estreia de Mano, diante do Goiás, entrou com a equipe perdendo e atuou como segundo volante.

A capacidade de criação de trás fez com que Mano Menezes cogitasse trabalhar com o meia mais recuado, mas sabia que o time precisaria ter mais consistência para jogar com a bola na maior parte do tempo, já que Lucas não é um exímio marcador. Por este fato, o jogador não acredita que será usado frequentemente na nova posição.

– Eu já joguei alguns jogos assim, mas quando o time estava perdendo e eu recuei um pouco. Vai ser um pouco difícil me usar nesta função, a menos que precise em um jogo perdendo, como contra o Goiás. Teria de crescer mais na marcação, a posição exige isso. Teria de implementar mais isso no meu jogo – pontuou.

Após esta primeira ideia, Mano de fato tem trabalhado com o atleta apenas na meia, dando liberdade para que ele percorra o campo. Dono de 63 partidas e sete gols em 2018, Lucas Lima já atuou 32 vezes nesta temporada e ainda busca seu primeiro gol.

Diniz também comentou sobre a volta de Alexandre Pato. O atacante teve a melhor chance de balançar a rede na segunda etapa.

– Pato é um talento muito singular. É um dos maiores jogadores que joga no Brasil com certeza. É um cara que tem muito recurso em todas valências: físicas e técnicas. É um cara que tem uma genialidade que pode decidir a qualquer momento. Ajudou no que deu para ajudar na parte tática e é um jogador que pode sempre esperar que em uma chance pode decidir. Hoje passou perto de decidir. Esperamos uma evolução física e tática com o decorrer dos dias – concluiu.

Ele também comentou sobre as convocações e sobre as lesões. Ele ressaltou que todos os times acabam sofrendo com os amistosos da Seleção e isso pode acarretar em lesões para sequência.

– Problema não só do São Paulo, mas para todos. São Paulo sofre com jogadores convocados. ISso foge do controle. Número de lesões consegue com trabalho e conversando com jogadores dá pra diminuir. Mas convocados…. Corinthians teve um, no máximo dois. Eram dois jogadores importantes. Muito difícil de repor – disse.

O treinador ressaltou os contra-ataques empregados pelo Bahia no decorrer do jogo. Além disso, relatou que seja a melhor arma dos baianos na competição.

– Nada de casual. Foi muito treinado. Bahia tem o melhor contra-ataque do Brasil e treinamos para evitar. Alguns momentos cedemos a bola e foi estudado. Fomos felizes. Tiveram um ou dois contra-ataques. Mapeamos muito bem essa jogada do Bahia, que talvez seja a principal arma do time no Brasileiro – afirmou.

Com mais tempo de trabalho, já foi possível notar uma maior influência do trabalho de Alberto Valentim na forma do Botafogo jogar. O Alvinegro fez uma partida de um toque de bola envolvente, pautado na intensidade, ao contrario do que ocorria na “Era Barroca”, em que a equipe tinha mais posse de bola, mas mantinha troca de passes no campo defensivo, sem muita ofensividade. O treinador também cumpriu a promessa de usar Diego Souza como peça-chave no esquema tático da equipe. O camisa 7 atuou um pouco mais recuado e fez a distribuição com qualidade. No segundo tempo diminuiu o ritmo um pouco o ritmo, sem comprometer.

MAIS AGRESSIVIDADE

Aproveitando-se da qualidade técnica inferior do CSA, o Botafogo foi mais agressivo e buscou o gol na maior parte do tempo. Leo Valencia e Cícero foram participativos no meio campo e confundiram a marcação adversária com a troca de posições. As finalizações foram mais precisas e fizeram o goleiro João Carlos trabalhar.O Atacante Luiz Fernando, que vinha tendo atuações apagadas sob o comando de Eduardo Barroca, foi mais participativo no primeiro tempo e teve uma boa trama com Marcinho pelo lado direito. Foi dele, inclusive, o chute que resultou em gol contra do zagueiro Luciano Castán. ESTRELA DE VALENTIM

O leitura de jogo de Alberto Valentim funcionou. O técnico lançou Igor Cássio, no segundo tempo, no lugar de um Luiz Fernando, já esgotado. A mudança surtiu efeito e o jogador de 21 anos, revelado na base do Botafogo deu novo ânimo a equipe. Em momento de dificuldade, quando o Alvinegro acabara de sofrer o empate, Igor colocou o Botafogo novamente em vantagem. LADO DIREITO FORTE

O lado direito foi uma boa válvula de escape para o Botafogo, em especial no segundo tempo. Marcinho foi sempre perigoso por este setor do campo e acertou cruzamentos na medida, desperdiçados pelos companheiros. Do lado esquerdo, Yuri subiu poucas vezes e ficou mais preocupado com o apoio à marcação e em impedir os avanços do CSA.

SOLIDEZ DEFENSIVA

O recuo excessivo do Botafogo no início do segundo tempo acabou atraindo o CSA para o campo defensivo alvinegro. Em um lance casual de bola na mão, o árbitro Leandro Vuaden marcou pênalti e o time alagoano chegou ao empate, a cobrança de Ricardo Bueno. Com a bola roalndo, no entanto, o Azulão teve dificuldades de superar a marcação botafoguense. Os zagueiros Gabriel e Marcelo Benevenuto passaram segurança e a entrada de Kanu manteve o nível. Sri Lanka’s home series against India, which will include Kumar Sangakkara’s farewell Test, has fetched only $1.4 million in TV broadcast bids so far. SLC has expressed dismay at the bid amount, and has said it is re-negotiating with Ten Sports, who had made the only bid when the tender period closed last week. Other networks have also renewed their interest in the series since.Ordinarily, one Test with India is expected to be worth over $2 million in broadcast rights. As the series in August and September comprises of three Tests, the board found the bid to be exceedingly meagre, SLC chairman Sidath Wettimuny said.”I can’t tell you how disappointed I was with the quotation we got from Ten Sports,” he said. “We were all a bit surprised. So I’ve gone back to them and asked them to look at the figure again, and I’m expecting them to get back to me over the next two days. We have a working relationship with Ten Sports, but I told them that if nothing changes, we’ll have to look elsewhere.”SLC had hoped broadcasters such as Sony and Star would bid for the series, but although both had originally expressed interest, neither had entered a bid. Broadcasting budgets in India are said to have been drained after the IPL and World Cup, while Star is also preparing for a heavy home season. In addition, networks have been concerned about the possibility of rain interrupting the series, which will be played in Sri Lanka’s inter-monsoon season.However, Star has since suggested it could enter a bid after all. The company has made no firm commitments yet.Ten Sports currently holds the broadcast rights for international cricket in Sri Lanka, but as this series is surplus to what had been scheduled in the Future Tours Programme, SLC could sell these rights separately. The series was originally scheduled to be played in India, but the venues were switched as repayment for Sri Lanka’s impromptu ODI tour of India last October and November.The series schedule has not been finalised, but the latest draft has the first Test beginning on August 18, and the third Test finishing on September 7.

Together the two added 118 in 13.2 overs as Somerset waltzed to their target of 172 with rather contemptuous ease.Middlesex’s failure to notch up a higher total deprived Allenby of the third T20 hundred of his career. Still he provided further affirmation of his consistency and class in this format of the game: after 548 runs at 45.66 apiece for Glamorgan last year, he has 237 runs at 47.40 for his new county. After beginning the T20 season at No. 5, to accommodate Gayle and Marcus Trescothick, the latter again omitted from this match, Allenby is relishing his return to opening.”It’s where everyone likes to bat – it’s the best place to bat without a doubt. If you get a chance to bat you make the most of it, because there’s a mile-long queue of people who want to do it, especially at Taunton and in this team,” he said.Insights

Somerset have not allowed the coming and going of Chris Gayle to unsettle their strategy. Middlesex supporters didn’t have much else to laugh about. Two emphatic victories in consecutive nights a month ago proved deceptive: Middlesex have lost five consecutive T20s since. England’s bowlers fought back to secure a 15-run win in the first T20 with South Africa, after Sarah Taylor’s blistering, unbeaten 74 had masked a top-order failure with the bat.Chasing 148 to win, South Africa openers Dane van Niekerk and Trisha Chetty put on a 96-run stand but Anya Shrubsole claimed three wickets to put the brakes on and put England 1-0 up in the three-match series.Van Niekerk struck a half-century, to go with 2 for 26 with the ball, but she fell to the returning Shrubsole and South Africa were left needing 51 from the last five overs. Jenny Gunn had Chetty lbw in the next over and South Africa’s middle order could not achieve the required acceleration.Marizanne Kapp was next to go, a wicket for Danielle Hazell, and Shrubsole then effectively sealed the win in the penultimate over, removing the dangerous Lizelle Lee – via a brilliant Amy Jones catch at deep midwicket – and captain Mignon du Preez. No treino desta quarta-feira, o atacante Bustamante sentiu um problema físico. No começo da atividade, ele acusou uma forte dor na virilha e precisou deixar o campo amparado por integrantes do DM.

Com a ausência de Jonatan Gómez, Bustamante seria o substituto imediato para formar dupla com Ricardo Bueno, mas com esse possível quadro de lesão, a expectativa é que Bruno Alves fique com a vaga.
