Flocking to Twitter, many Everton fans were left appalled with the latest display of midfielder Andre Gomes despite their side’s brilliant result away to Chelsea on Thursday evening.

The Toffees, looking to turn their fortunes around under Rafael Benitez, pulled off a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge against the high-flying European champions – potentially easing some pressure off Everton’s head coach.

They did need the heroics of goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, however, who enjoyed a memorable performance in what was surely one of his finest ever showings between the sticks – making save after save to keep Everton in the contest and earning a 9/10 rating on SofaScore.

Chelsea did eventually find their way through with Mason Mount burying a neat finish at the near post on 70 minutes, but just moments later, Anthony Gordon’s in-swinging free-kick found Jarrad Branthwaite who rescued a point for the visitors.

However, picking out one bad apple from the evening, it appears a fair few Blues weren’t atoll impressed with Gomes – who they believe endured an ‘awful’ afternoon.

Everton fans slam Gomes…

Hooked off by Benitez mid-way through the second period, Gomes certainly didn’t shine according to SofaScore too, with the 28-year-old ranking in as Everton’s lowest-rated player (5.8/10).

Picking up a booking, the Portuguese didn’t cope well with Chelsea’s quality in midfield, winning just five out of 17 ground duels against Thomas Tuchel’s side (SofaScore).

Gomes also failed to win a single aerial duel or find a long ball to one of his teammates (SofaScore), leaving little wonder why some Toffees supporters believe he was a ‘passenger’.

واستكمل: “لم نرفض بث المباراة على الهواء، وحاولنا في البداية إذاعتها من خلال صفحتنا وجودة الاتصال لم تسمح لنا ببثها بطريقة معقولة، شبكة المحمول ضعيفة في الكاميرون”.

Newcastle suffered their eighth defeat of the Premier League season on Sunday as they lost 4-0 to Leicester away from home.

The Magpies are 19th in the table and have only won one of their 16 matches so far, scoring 17 goals and conceding a whopping 34.

Scoring and conceding goals has been an issue for Newcastle and Eddie Howe could look to the January transfer window to rectify some of his problems.

Better than Joelinton

Joelinton has been supporting the former in a front two of late, but he has only managed one strike and the signing of Nunez could prove to be a major upgrade in that position, given that he scored three times as many goals on Sunday as the Brazilian has managed all campaign.

The 22-year-old played off Haris Seferovic in the match, which shows that he is capable of being deployed in a wider, or deeper, role rather than purely as a centre-forward. This means that he could come in and offer help to Wilson with his clinical edge in the final third, having shown that he has more of an eye for goal than Joelinton.

His manager Jorge Jesus previously stated that he has all the qualities to become world-class in his position, saying: “All this decision-making ability, finishing and speed… He was Benfica’s most expensive purchase, and when there is no pandemic, he will be the most expensive sale. He will be a world-class player. Unfortunately for me, maybe I will lose him in a short time.”

Based on that, they simply have to sign him.

Pakistan’s foreign ministry raises no objections to their participation

Pakistan’s cricketers are a step closer towards playing in the IPL’s third edition, starting on March 12 next year, after the country’s foreign ministry raised no objections to their participation. The players are still awaiting security clearance from the interior ministry which is a prerequisite for the No Objection Certificates (NOCs) that would allow them to play in the tournament.”The situation is that the foreign ministry has given political clearance for our players to take part in the IPL to the sports ministry,” Faik Ali, a spokesman for the sports ministry, told . “But we are still waiting for security clearance from the interior ministry for the players to go for the IPL.”Pakistan’s players were absent from the second IPL, held earlier this year in South Africa, after their government did not allow them to travel to India – where the tournament was originally to be held – for security reasons. The decision came in the wake of the Mumbai attacks last year, after which relations between India and Pakistan deteriorated considerably. Eleven players from Pakistan had taken part in the first IPL, though after the Mumbai attacks, only four were retained by their franchises, though their contracts were suspended until further resolution.The deadline for the submission of the NOCs has been extended to December 7.PCB’s chairman Ijaz Butt was confident of getting the security clearance from the interior ministry.”Last time the situation was a bit different and things have improved a bit. However, as news emerges on another former player in Yokuslu, it appears Ismael could now want to bring back another ex-hero.

According to La Voz de Galicia, the Turkey international midfielder wants to return to the Hawthorns over all others and Ismael himself would ‘welcome his return’.
