Airton talvez seja o personagem mais marcante da temporada atual do Botafogo. Sua trajetória no clube não era boa, tampouco as expectativas de que o volante, que tinha contrato até o final do Carioca, deslanchasse. Mas aconteceu. Airton deu equilíbrio ao meio, contribuiu na saída de bola e se tornou uma peça importante dentro do esquema de Ricardo Gomes.

Contra o Coritiba, no último sábado, o volante manteve uma marca importante no Campeonato Brasileiro: com ele em campo, a defesa do Botafogo não foi vazada nenhuma vez. Em cinco jogos, a meta de Sidão não foi vazada nenhuma vez com o camisa 8 atuando. Até por isso, o torcedor se preocupou quando, aos 22 minutos, Airton pediu para ser substituído no empate em 0 a 0 no Couto Pereira. Mas nada demais, segundo o técnico Ricardo Gomes.

– Ele forçou, forçou, e achei melhor não correr mais o risco. Cinco minutos antes da substituição ele teve uma pequena cãibra, achei que não era o momento de correr risco – disse Ricardo Gomes na coletiva pós-jogo.

Em 15 jogos na temporada, o Botafogo perdeu somente um com Airton em campo. No Brasileiro, ainda invicto em partidas com a presença do volante. Com problemas físicos desde a metade do Carioca, a presença de Airton se torna cada vez mais vital para o Alvinegro almejar voos mais altos no ano.

Key information about Fir Park

Fir Park was built in 1893 and is currently the home of Motherwell FC. The ground is located in Motherwell, North Lanarkshire in Scotland and has been the club’s haven for over a 100 years now.

Its current capacity stands at 13,750 and has a pitch size of 100m x 68m. The field is not surrounded by a running track but has natural grass covering it with undersoil heating also installed.

The record attendance for the stadium was registered in a 1951/52 Scottish Cup replay when 35,632 supporters saw Motherwell and Rangers lock horns.

A history of Fir Park

Even though Motherwell are now always connected to Fir Park, that was actually not their home until 1895, two years after the stadium was first built. For the first nine years of their existence, however, they played games at both Roman Road and Dalziel Park.

Interestingly enough, it was not only the stadium they got when they moved to Fir Park. Since the ground was owned by Lord Hamilton of Dalzell and his official racing colours were claret and amber, Motherwell adopted those too and added them to the colours of their kits.

The first game played on the new stadium was against Celtic with the away side cruising to a 8-1 victory in front of 6,000 supporters watching the clash. Initially, the attendance was very low and the club even considered moving at some points with Hibernian poised to take over. However, that didn’t happen and even though the ground mostly had just one two-tier stand, they would record their highest attendance in the 1951/52 replay of the Scottish Cup with 35,632 fans witnessing Motherwell’s clash with Rangers.

Soon after, renovations ensued and they added an enclosure roof over the eastern terrace and installed floodlights. The 1930s were actually when some of the biggest renovations happened and the club increased the capacity to 35,000. The main stand was constructed in 1960 and it wouldn’t get renamed until 2008 when they called it the Phil O’Donnell Stand.

The most notable changes, however, were made in the 1990s after the publication of the Taylor Report which revamped the health and safety protocols. The old ‘shed’ terracing would also get new seats installed and is now known as the John Hunter Stand.

The South and Davie Cooper Stands were then constructed at either end of the stadium, which ultimately increased the capacity to 13,750 – a figure that holds true to this very day.

ويحل بايرن ميونخ ضيفًا على برشلونة، مساء اليوم الثلاثاء على ملعب “كامب نو”، بالجولة الأولى لدور المجموعات في دوري الأبطال.

Plymouth striker Klajdi Lolos has been given an ultimatum on his future at Home Park by manager Ryan Lowe.

The 19-year-old had spent time out on loan with Dorchester Town in the Southern Premier League this season and he has now been given a very clear message about his chances of establishing himself at his parent club.

As per Plymouth Herald, Lowe said: “Lolos, we see magic in him. A few people have said ‘Can he do this, can he do that?’

“I have got a lot of time for Lolos because I think he can be a special player and I have told him this. But he is probably in the last chance saloon to kick on and go and show us he can play league football because we feel he can.”

Greek striker Lolos played a handful of first team games for Plymouth earlier in the season, starting one EFL Trophy match and making four substitute appearances in League Two, along with grabbing an assist in the Carabao Cup defeat to Reading last August. [via TransferMarkt]

Plymouth Herald noted that the teenager continued to play for the Pilgrims in the Central League and Premier League Under-23 Cup throughout his loan spell at Dorchester, scoring several times in those fixtures.

He returns to Home Park with his chances of first team football perhaps boosted by the impending releases of Ryan Taylor and Alex Fletcher, both of whose contracts expire at the end of this month, while Ryan Hardie has returned to Blackpool after the culmination of his loan spell.

Lowe will need all the firepower he can get as Argyle take on League One next season and he has thrown down the gauntlet to Lolos, who has no experience at that level.

The Greek youngster probably won’t be leading the line for Plymouth in 2020/21, although he has the opportunity to make a firm case to his manager now that he has been told it is effectively a case of now or never for him at Home Park.

وقال النقاز خلال استضافته عبر برنامج “يحدث في مصر” المُذاع على قناة “إم بي سي مصر”: “والله العظيم عندما رحلت من الزمالك كنت حزينًا وكنت أتواصل مع اللاعبين، ورحلت إلى الترجي”.

وأشار: “ولكن عندما واجهت الزمالك وأنا مع الترجي، كنت ألعب بقوة وجماهير الأبيض سبتني، وواجهت النجم الساحلي (فريقي الأم) وأنا مع الزمالك وكنت أؤدي بقوة”.

تابع: “زوجتي ندمت أنها خرجت من مصر، عكس ما قيل أن السبب في رحيلي هو أسرتي، وزوجتي كانت أكثر الداعمين لي في العودة للزمالك، وسأجعل الجماهير تنسى كلمة الهارب”.

وواصل: “كنت متأكدًا أن الزمالك سيحصد الدوري لأنه يستحق، واللاعبون كانوا متحفزين جدًا”.

استكمل: “الفيس بوك هو سبب الشحن، أنا ممكن أجعل الجماهير تحبني من خلال فعل بعض الأمور، ولكن أنا لا أحب الحديث كثيرًا، وسأفعل هذا في الملعب، وإن شاء الله الثلاث سنوات المُقبلة، سيرون مني كل خير”.

أردف: “مستحيل بالنسبة لي أن أخرج إعارة، وعدت للزمالك لكي ألعب وأثبت للناس من خلال الملعب، أنا أحبكم وأحب نادي الزمالك جدًا وإن شاء الله تشاهدون النقاز بشكل أفضل من السابق”.

أكمل: “حسين الشحات لاعب كبير ولو واجهت الأهلي سأبذل مجهودا كبيرا، لا أعلم لماذا يتحدث الناس عني وعن الشحات كثيرًا، عادي جدًا وتحدث هذه المراوغة في الكرة وتحدث مع أي لاعب في العالم، ووارد أنني أراوغ لاعبا آخر”.

أوضح: “اللجنة الحالية احترمتني، ولكن حتى لو جاءت لجنة أخرى ما المشكلة سألعب أيضًا، وإن شاء الله نحصد بطولة إفريقيا النسخة المُقبلة وهذا الأهم بالنسبة لجمهور الزمالك”.

استطرد: “أول اللاعبين الذين تحدثت معهم فور عودتي كانوا محمود علاء وطارق حامد وأوباما وعبد الله جمعة”.

وعن رحيل محمود جنش، قال: “حارس كبير وعنده اسم كبير، ولكن خروجه للإعارة أمر فني لا أتحدث عنه”.

وعن طموحاته مع الزمالك بعد العودة، قال: “طموحي تحقيق الألقاب، وحتى لو الجماهير حزينة مني، سيرون في الملعب ونحن نحصد الألقاب”.

استكمل: “الذي يلعب في فريق كبير يجب أن يتحمل الضغط، والزمالك لديه شعبية كبيرة ليس في مصر فقط بل على مستوى العرب جميعًا، وطبيعي أن يكون هناك ضغط”.

وعن المفاوضات مع الأندية الأخرى: “أول مباراة لي ضد الأهلي مع الزمالك فزنا بها، هذه مباراة ديربي مصر كلها تنتظرها، ولن أفكر مطلقًا في اللعب للأهلي منذ انتقالي للأبيض، وما كان في ذهني عندما خرجت من الترجي أن أعود للزمالك ولم أنظر لأي عرض آخر”.

اختتم: “المثلوثي أخي وليس لدي مشكلة معه، ولو هو تحدث عني فأنا أكبر من الرد”.

It’s not one a situation that Leeds will be looking forward to, but with Pablo Hernandez turning 35 earlier this year, a plan surely has to be start being drawn up for life after the Spanish wizard has left or retired.

Despite being one of the oldest players in the squad, the midfielder has arguably been the Whites’ most effective players in recent weeks.

With Marcelo Bielsa’s side chasing down automatic promotion from the Championship this season, Hernandez has come up big with some really important cameos – not least his late winner against Swansea on Sunday.

Despite coming on at the break, he finished with a Sofascore match rating of 7.3 – the second-highest of any Leeds player on the day. He completed three out of his four attempted dribbles, provided one key pass and recorded 52 touches of the ball, ten more than Jack Harrison who lasted almost the whole game.

It’s quite telling that since the restart, the Spaniard has only played a maximum of 45 minutes in any game, with Bielsa no doubt keen to preserve his fitness in these final few matches of the campaign.

But whilst it is working out to a tee for now, Hernandez’s age means Victor Orta and co must surely be on the hunt for a potential successor to their little magician.

Hernandez – valued at £1.08m by Transfermarkt – may only have another season or two at the top level, and it is already difficult to see whether he would be more than just an impact sub in that time.

But rather than just waiting to see when his time comes to an end, Leeds must be proactive in their work in the transfer market and find a player who can come in and provide some of the same qualities the Spaniard offers.

With eight goals and seven assists this season, Hernandez has shown he is still very much a goal threat, and bringing someone in who can provide both creativity and goal threat would go a long way to making sure Leeds can continue to be successful even without the former pulling the strings.

تحدث والتر بواليا مهاجم الأهلي والمعار لصفوف فريق مالاتيا سبور التركي عن فترته داخل جدران القلعة الحمراء خلال الموسم الماضي بعد انضمامه من الجونة.

وقال بواليا في تصريحات تلفزيونية عبر قناة “أون تايم سبورتس”: “انتقالي من الجونة إلى الأهلي كان بسبب أدائي في الملعب والعمل الجاد الذي كنت اقوم به، كان هناك العديد من الجماهير تطلب ضمي لكن في البداية لم يكن الأمر على محمل الجد، ثم بعد ذلك تم لقاء مع أمير توفيق وقال لي إنني لا يُمكن أن أنضم للأحمر في هذا التوقيت بسبب تواجد لاعبين أجانب في الفريق”.

وتابع: “فضلت وقتها البقاء في الجونة رغم أنني كنت أمتلك عروضًا أخرى منها سيمبا التنزاني، ثم بقيت حتى تفاوض معي الأهلي مرة أخرى”.

وأكمل: “كانت سعادة كبيرة وقتها، الأهلي فريق كبير في إفريقيا وكان شيء عظيم أن أرتدي قميصه، وكان أمر عظيم أن يتم تقديمي لاعبا في النادي”.

وأردف: “الوقت الذي قضيته في الأهلي وحتى الآن لم يصل فيه جودتي مائة بالمائة كما كانت الجماهير تتوقع، ولكني فعلت بعض الشيء ووضعت ابتسامة على وجوههم، كانت فترة جيدة بالنسبة لي”.

واستطرد مهاجم مالاتيا سبور: “المهاجم هو من يسجل أهدافًا، كنت أحاول في كل مباراة أن أسجل أو حتى أمرر تمريرات حاسمة لمساعدة الفريق، أعتقد أن سبب رحيلي ليس لأنني لم أسجل أهدافًا، ولكن لأن مشاركاتي قلت وثقة المدرب بي قلت أيضا”.

وعن تألقه في الجونة مقارنة بفترته في الأهلي، أجاب: “كرة القدم اسمها ينطبق عليها، هي دائرية، أوقات الأمور تأتي كما تريد وأوقات الرياح تأتي بما لا تشتهيه السفن، وهكذا كانت فترتي مع الأهلي لا أعرف ماذا حدث”.

وأوضح: “أنا لاعب محترف ولم أكن أفهم ثقافة الأهلي إلا حينما دخلت النادي، كان علي أن أفهم، ولا أستطيع أن ألقي باللوم على أي أحد، ما حدث قد حدث”.

وأضاف بواليا: “كنت تحت ضغط، أنا مهاجم صريح ومهمتي تسجيل الأهداف وإن لم أفعل ذلك أتعرض للضغط”.

وبسؤاله ماذا تقصد بعدم فهمك لثقافة النادي الأهلي؟، أوضح: “في كل بيت من بيوتنا هناك روح لهذا المكان، في بيتنا والدي يضع قواعد”.

واختتم: “بالنسبة لي أنا حاولت أن أفهم الأهلي، وهذا أخذ مني بعض الوقت حتى أحدد في أي اتجاه أسير، وكلما مر الوقت كنت أفهم هذه التعليمات والقواعد”.

Tottenham Hotspur are set to sanction a transfer for Juan Foyth amid interest from Leeds United, reports say. 

Spurs struggled to a disappointing 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace on the final day of the Premier League season, although they qualified for the Europa League in the process, but Foyth was nowhere to be seen.

According to The Sun, Leeds are preparing to launch a £15m bid for the defender irrespective of whether Marcelo Bielsa brings Ben White back to Elland Road as well.

Foyth’s future at Tottenham looks far from certain as his agent recently revealed he will make a decision following the conclusion of the campaign.

He has made a full recovery from a meniscal injury, although he was an unused substitute in the 3-1 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium, before being dropped from the squad altogether for the London derby at Selhurst Park.

The Argentine, who was once considered a Mauricio Pochettino prodigy, has fallen out of favour with his successor, as he has featured just twice for Jose Mourinho since the Portuguese succeeded Pochettino in November.

Bielsa is keen to recruit his compatriot, as he believes the 22-year-old would strengthen his newly-promoted squad, and it is unlikely the Lilywhites will stand in his way.

The versatile player, who can play in the centre or at right-back, is considered surplus to requirements by Mourinho, who wants to replace him with Freiburg’s Robin Koch.

So far Foyth has failed to convince Mourinho he is worth keeping while Bielsa has a habit of developing young talent as he has arguably transformed the Peacocks by giving players like Kalvin Phillips a chance to prove themselves.

Regardless of whether or not Bielsa will be able to get the best out of him, this should benefit Mourinho, as his sale will generate some much-needed funds in the transfer market.
