Tottenham Hotspur fans took to Twitter to praise the attitude of attacker Son Heung-Min after a video of the South Korean appeared on Twitter.

Son was featured in a behind-the-scenes clip where he was seen mimicking Cristiano Ronaldo’s trademark celebration during a shoot for a promotion video.

Son enjoyed a great season last campaign as he scored and assisted 30 goals and he helped the North London giants reach the Champions League final.

The 27-year-old is yet to return to action for the North London side after a red card against Bournemouth towards the back end of last season and will miss the next game as a result too.

Indeed, Spurs had a tricky start to their Premier League season, narrowly avoiding a relative shock as they came from 1-0 down to beat newly-promoted Aston Villa 3-1.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side face a tricky fixture next as they travel up to Manchester to face Pep Guardiola’s all-conquering City side.

Fans were enjoying the mood of the South Korea international and reacted well on Twitter.

وأوضحت الصحيفة أن ألابا – والذي سيوقع عقدًا مدته أربع سنوات – سيتقاضى في الموسم الواحد 10 ملايين يورو.

وأكدت الصحيفة أن الاتفاقية لم تُغلق بعد بالكامل بين ريال مدريد وألابا، ولكن توقيع النمساوي على العقد يُعد مسألة وقت ليس أكثر.

Leicester City have gone two draws from two to open the 2019/20 Premier League season by following up the Wolves stalemate with a one-goal apiece encounter at Stamford Bridge.

Wilfred Ndidi’s mistake allowed Mason Mount to open the scoring early in the first half but the 22-year-old made amends by bagging the equaliser with a nicely-timed header from James Maddison’s corner.

Leicester’s number ten should have won it for the Foxes after drilling a close-range effort well over the bar with less than 20 minutes left in the match.

Although it was another draw, Brendan Rodgers’ side remain unbeaten and there were plenty of positives to take from the game against Chelsea.

Most notably, with the role of Maddison who looked to be a completely different player to the one we saw against Wolves only eight days ago.

On the Chalkboard

The 22-year-old looked a despondent and frustrated figure out wide last week, proving to be fairly ineffectual and ultimately wasted.

However, against Chelsea he proved that he is more than capable of having an impact in that very role after it appeared that Rodgers gave him more freedom to express himself.

That subtle change resulted in a Man of the Match performance on Maddison’s part.

He recorded 67 touches, six of which were in the opposition box (and the most of any player), two shots, three chances created including the assist for the equaliser and completed 24 of 36 passes – all stats according to Sky Sports Statto.

Both of Leicester’s full-backs were pushed forward in the attacking phases of the game as seen by both Christian Fuchs’ and Ricardo Pereira’s heatmaps from the match which allowed Maddison and his wing partner Ayoze Perez, freedom to cut in and operate more centrally at times.

The England U21 international played primarily in the centre of midfield last season – in 26 of his 38 appearances to be precise, where he scored six and assisted three.

The remaining matches he played out wide where he could only manage one goal and four assists.

Certainly after the Wolves game, the same trend looked to be repeated but if he’s continued to be given the ability to roam freely then he may well thrive and be the asset Rodgers needs in attack.

Lucas Moura believes the north London derby has come at a perfect time for Tottenham Hotspur, per the London Evening Standard.

What’s he said?

Spurs take on Arsenal at The Emirates on Sunday, fresh from a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United last weekend.

The Gunners also lost at the weekend, going down 3-1 to Liverpool at Anfield, and Lucas insists that he and his team-mates will get back to winning ways against their bitter rivals.

He said:  “Is this the perfect game for us to have after the Newcastle defeat? Yes. We need to look forward now. There are a lot of hard games to come.

“We lost against Newcastle but I am sure we have the quality to go to Arsenal and come back with three points. That’s what we must try to do.

“Each game is different. This is a new season and we have new players. I think we are stronger now (than in previous years). I am sure we can go anywhere and win games.

“For sure it was a very bad result against Newcastle. We tried but it was very difficult to play against them, especially as they kept everyone behind the ball after they scored.

“It was difficult to find the space in the air and the ground because everyone was in the box. I missed a very clear opportunity and I am upset about this. We need to get back to work this week and win the next game against Arsenal.”

Derby atmosphere

Form goes out of the window in a derby game, or so the saying goes.

That is good news for both Spurs and Arsenal after their execrable performances at the weekend.

With the season still in its infancy, it is difficult to draw too many conclusions but Lucas is right that Spurs cannot afford to lose two games on the bounce.

They have not won at the Emirates since 2010, but they will surely be champing at the bit to set things right.

The derby may well have come at the perfect time.

Sunderland signed seven players in the summer transfer window, but Jack Ross has failed to address an issue that plagued his side often last season.

What’s the word?

Every Black Cats fan must be sick of the sight of two 1’s with a little hyphen in between them.

The club drew 19 of their 46 league matches in 2018/19, and a quite ridiculous 15 of those were 1-1 draws.

Ross’ side constantly found the net in games, and rarely conceded multiple goals, but they never created enough chances to put the match to bed and leave their opponents in the dust.

Given that the likes of Charlie Wyke and Will Grigg both have proven records in the third-tier, and the fact Marc McNulty has impressed fans early on this campaign, the problem is clearly rooted behind the front men.

George Honeyman was the popular pick at the number ten role last season, but assisted just twice in 28 games from the position. Good thing they sold him and replaced him then, right?

Wrong.

On the chalkboard

The club did get rid of their former skipper, but not one of the seven new signings this summer is an attacking midfielder.

Ross has added one goalkeeper, four defenders, one defensive midfielder and a striker, and of the attacking players already in the squad, not one of them is an out-and-out playmaker.

Aiden McGeady for example, arguably the side’s star man, has only played attacking midfield 12 times in his career, and hasn’t mustered a single assist from the position.

The same can be said for Chris Maguire, who has no assists in 11 appearances as a number ten, and Lynden Gooch, who has managed just six assists in 35 showings from the role.

Ross has plenty of players capable of scoring goals – Grigg has made a career out of bagging in League One, while Maguire already has four to his name this campaign.

However, the lack of a genuine playmaker harmed the Black Cats last year, and whether it is the gaffer behind the decision not to address that this summer or the men upstairs, it is likely to be a huge mistake.

1-1. Get used to that sight Sunderland fans. It has already happened twice in this very young season, and it’s going to happen an awful lot more thanks to this blatant oversight in the transfer market.

England fans have mocked Harry Kane for finally passing to Raheem Sterling!

The Three Lions beat Bulgaria 4-0 in a straightforward Euro 2020 qualifier at Wembley on Saturday.

The Tottenham Hotspur striker scored a hat-trick in the victory, with the Manchester City winger the other name on the scoresheet.

Sterling’s goal came after Kane cut the ball back to him, allowing him to fire home.

Of course, there were echoes of the World Cup semi-final in the build-up, in which England lost to Croatia in Russia.

In that game, with the score at 1-0 following Kieran Trippier’s opener, Kane chose to shoot instead of passing to Sterling in the six-yard box, and missed his chance.

Many fans still believe that the Three Lions could have booked their place in the final had Kane been a little more unselfish.

كشف الدكتور أشرف صبحي وزير الشباب والرياضة، حقيقة دعم نادي الزمالك بـ100 مليون جنيه خلال الفترة الماضية من موازنة الوزارة، بعد تجميد المجلس السابق وتعيين اللجنة المؤقتة.

وقال أشرف صبحي، في تصريحات صحفية اليوم الإثنين، إن الوزارة ساهمت في استقرار الأوضاع المالية للعديد من الأندية الشعبية، وخاصة تلك التي تعرضت لتغيرات أو تراجع في مستوى الإيرادات خلال الفترة الماضية.

وكان وزير الرياضة قد صرح أن الوزارة دعمت الزمالك بـ100 مليون جنيه خلال الفترة الماضية طالع التفاصيل.

وأضاف أشرف صبحي أنه من بين تلك الأندية الزمالك، وقامت الوزارة بمساعدته بالتنسيق مع اللجنة المؤقتة المشكلة لإدارة شئون النادي في حصوله على أكثر من مائة مليون جنيه كانت مستحقة لدى العديد من الجهات المختلفة لصالح النادي، ولكن لم يكن الدعم من موازنة الوزارة، فضلاً عن تواصلنا مع العديد من الجهات التي لديها مستحقات لدى نادى الزمالك لجدولة تلك الديون، بما لا يعيق أداء النادي ووفاءه بالتزاماته المختلفة.

وأكد وزير الرياضة التزام الوزارة بهذا الدور تجاه جميع الأندية الشعبية بغرض الحفاظ على استقرارها على صعيد النواحي المالية والإدارية، ودعم أنشطتها المختلفة في سبيل خدمة الشباب والمواطنين من الأعضاء والمترددين عليها.
