Aston Villa secured a return to the Premier League courtesy of a 2-1 win over Derby County in Monday’s Championship playoff final at Wembley Stadium.

It was a terrific advert for the second tier of English football but Villa were the team smiling at full-time whilst Derby will be left wondering what might have been.

And now the speculation surrounding Jack Grealish is bound to start again.

Tottenham Hotspur were strongly linked with a move for the midfielder last summer.

Those rumours have reignited in recent weeks with a report in the Daily Star saying that Spurs could make another attempt to land the 23-year-old ahead of the 2019-20 campaign.

However, the situation will have been complicated by the fact that Grealish has helped Villa secure a return to the Premier League.

There are a number of Tottenham fans who are still keen on signing the Englishman this summer but plenty of offers are hopeful that Villa’s promotion will mean that Grealish will not be arriving in the capital.

It has been reported by Basque news outlet noticias de Gipuzkoa that Everton are the club most interested in Real Sociedad centre-back Diego Llorente, who is also on the radar of Merseyside rivals Liverpool.

The report states that the 25-year-old has a €50m release clause in his contract with the Spanish side, although Real Sociedad won’t ‘refer’ to it as he seeks a move away from La Liga.

The Toffees are seemingly in the market for a centre-back with veteran Phil Jagielka’s contract set to expire soon, and loan hero Kurt Zouma returning to Chelsea.

It may be hard to get the Frenchman back on a permanent deal as the Blues have been hit with a transfer ban, but it isn’t impossible.

He improved Everton’s defence significantly this term and developed a solid partnership alongside Michael Keane. Therefore, the Toffees must do everything they can to bring him back to Goodison.”

“With a history of playing for Real Madrid, it’s clear that Llorente fits the Brands profile. We’ve already seen through Zouma, Andre Gomes and Lucas Digne that he is keen on targeting players with rich footballing backgrounds, so it’s no surprise to see him lining up another coup for the club. But after watching Zouma enjoy such a brilliant season at Goodison, the club must do everything in their power to land him on a permanent basis. If Chelsea refuse to sell due to the restrictions of their transfer ban, however, Llorente would be a perfect alternative.”

“Zouma knows Everton inside out and Everton know him. The only drawback here is Chelsea’s potential transfer ban, with the Blues potentially deciding to keep him in their squad for the 2019-20 season. As it is, he’d be the better addition than Llorente but there is absolutely nothing wrong with having a back-up. If Maurizio Sarri and co decide to play hardball, Everton may have no other choice but to land the Spaniard.”

أضاف خالد الغندور خلال مداخلة هاتفية عبر برنامج البريمو، المُذاع عبر قناة TEN: “المباراة صعبة على الفريقين ولديهم حلول ولا نسطيع توقع الفائز منهما، الزمالك تأثر بإصابات فيروس كورونا أكثر من الأهلي لكن لدينا قوام قوي”.

تابع: “الأهلي لديه لاعبين جيدين جدًا ودكة بدلائه أقوى من الزمالك والحلول في الشوط الثاني أكثر، إنما في الزمالك هناك غيابات كثيرة، ولدي ثقة في خبرات اللاعبين وشخصيتهم”.

وعن أكثر لاعب يُخيفه في الأهلي؟ رد قائلاً: “لا أخاف من أحد، هو فريق جيد على المستوى الجماعي، لكن لا يوجد لاعب سوبر”.

وأردف: “اللاعب الذي كان جيد جدًا منهم هو أليو ديانج لأنه قوي بدنيًا ويتقدم ويصنع الأهداف ويسدد، وأيضًا محمد مجدي أفشة لاعب جيد ولديه قدرة على التسليم والتسلم بدون أن يفقد الكرة”.

وواصل: “الأهلي فريق كرته الجماعية عالية والزمالك فرديًا أعلى، ولا يوجد لاعب في الأهلي مثل أشرف بن شرقي أو أحمد سيد زيزو أو مصطفى محمد”.

واختتم: “علي معلول حل من الحلول ولاعب جيد جدًا هجوميًا وكلما تقدم في الهجوم قل دفاعيًا”.

On Monday evening, Aston Villa released a statement on Ross McCormack, which confirmed that the attacker is to leave the club.

And a whole host of Villa fans took to social media in the aftermath of the announcement to reveal their delight.

The 32-year-old joined Villa from Fulham in August 2016 but managed just three goals in 24 appearances for the club in all competitions.

He has not actually turned out for AVFC since September 2017, representing Central Coast Mariners and Motherwell on loan during the 2018-19 campaign.

McCormack still had 12 months left to run on his contract at Villa Park. However, is now being released and will have to seek pastures new ahead of the new season.

To be honest, both the club and the player will be keen to move on as quickly as possible.

وأضاف: “إنه يتدرب بشكل منفرد، وتدرب اليوم، ولكنه لم يكن جاهزًا بنسبة 100%، نأمل أنّ يعود غدًا الاثنين إلى التدريبات”.

وأتم تصريحاته قائلًا: “لست مُتأكدًا ما إذا كان سيأخذ وقتًا طويلًا من أجل التعافي من الإصابة أم ماذا؟، ولكن آمل أنّ يكون جاهزًا لمباراة يوم الأربعاء”.

يُذكر أنّ اليونايتد يواجه الأربعاء القادم نظيره باريس سان جيرمان، على ملعب “أولد ترافورد”، بالجولة الخامسة من دور المجموعات في دوري أبطال أوروبا.

It always seems like Everton are always on the cusp breaking into the Premier League’s top six, but this season could actually be the Toffees’ time.

Chelsea have lost their best player this decade in Eden Hazard whilst also facing a transfer ban, and Arsenal and Manchester United both looked like headless chickens in the latter stages of the previous season, giving Everton the perfect chance to strike.

With the fixture list for next season out, what will be the key games in Everton’s campaign that can determine whether they can finish in the top six?

31st August – Wolverhampton Wanders (H)

With the quality below the top six sides likely to improve this summer, Everton will need to ensure they are able to beat their competition in the league, and taking down Wolverhampton Wanders will be a good step in sending out a message that the Toffees are here to challenge this season.

21st December – Arsenal (H)

Although Everton transform into a League One side whenever they head to the Emirates, it’s a whole different story when Arsenal turn up on Merseyside, and this season Marco Silva’s side will be looking at the Gunners as direct league rivals if the north Londoners continue to slip up as they have in previous years.

11th January – Brighton & Hove Albion (H)

With a horrid festive period that sees Everton play the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City over December and January, the Toffees will need all the points they can get heading into the start of 2020, and a home win against Brighton & Hove Albion could be just the ticket for kicking the New Year off right.

7th March – Chelsea (A)

It’s been nearly two years since Everton lost to Chelsea in the league, and heading into the new season with no Hazard and a potential transfer ban, the Toffees could sniff a lack of quality from the west London side and use it to their advantage to boost their claim for top six status. Going to Stamford Bridge is never easy, though.

4th April – Leicester City (H)

Likewise to Wolves, Leicester City will be aiming to disrupt the top six next season with the likes of Arsenal, Manchester United and the aforementioned Chelsea looking on the verge of collapse, and if Everton can get a result over the Foxes in the penultimate month of the season it could set the Toffees up for an entertaining run-in.

This was quite the season for Naby Keita donning the Liverpool shirt. Less than a year after he joined the Reds he already had a Champions League title under his belt and accumulated 33 appearances for the team, scoring three goals and assisting one in all competitions.

But the season is far from over for this Guinea midfield maestro as he now lead his country in this year’s AFCON. The 24-year-old posted an image of himself and some teammates on

Daniel Sturridge was first to the scene and made sure to leave a remark on Keita’s stance, calling him a “player” and leaving some emojis to show support for his friend.

Fabinho did the same but in a less banter-like fashion, calling the Guinea star “class” before also posting fire emojis depicting how good the players look in the snap.

Keita is a major piece in the Guinea squad with 33 caps already under his name and five goals to boast with and will definitely be looking to take his nation as far as possible. Their opening match is on 22 June against Madagascar.

وعن تألقه أمام الزمالك منذ رحيله عن الفريق، قال: “أنا ضد هذه التصريحات طبعًا أنا ولائي للمكان الذي أتواجد فيه وأبذل كل جهدي به”.
