Apesar da presença de Marcos Braz e Bruno Spindel na França e das negociações diretas com o diretor Juninho Pernambucano, não houve acerto.
O desejo do atleta em defender o Flamengo foi levado em consideração pelo Lyon, mas agora Thiago Mendes – que tem contrato até 2023 – segue no clube. Em suas temporadas no Lyon, o volante fez 37 e 35 partidas, respectivamente.
O Flamengo, por sua vez, segue atrás de reforços, mas vem encontrando dificuldades no mercado. Atualmente, o técnico Renato Gaúcho tem três volantes no elenco profissional: Willian Arão, Thiago Maia e João Gomes.

The Daily Express' Charlie Gordon recently claimed that the Scottish giants hold an interest in Lausanne central midfielder Alvyn Sanches this summer.
Stoke City and Coventry City, from the English Championship, are also said to be admirers of the 21-year-old starlet as the three sides possibly prepare to compete with each other for his signature.
Gordon reported that the Swiss side are looking for a fee in the region of £4m for the midfielder, who is also attracting interest from unnamed clubs in Europe.

Instead of splashing out £4m to sign the young maestro from Lausanne, Rodgers could save Celtic millions by unleashing Bosun Lawal in the first-team next season.
He just spent the 2023/24 campaign on loan at Fleetwood Town in England and could now be ready to step up and make his mark in the first-team for the Bhoys.

As you can see in the table above, the 6 foot 2 colossus outperformed Sanches at league level this season with his contributions in and out of possession.
Lawal has the physical attributes to dominate opposition players on a regular basis, whereas the Swiss gem lost the majority of his battles, and he contributed with more goals and 'big chances' created combined when in possession.
These statistics indicate that the Ireland international, whose U21 coach for his country Jim Crawford hailed as "exceptional", has the potential to be a better option than the Lausanne star for Celtic, as he can win possession back and win more battles for the team as well as having a greater influence at the top end of the pitch.
If he can translate his League One performances over to the Premiership then the young colossus could be a terrific player for Rodgers and a dream alternative to signing Sanches.

If Northamptonshire’s policy of using the Bob Willis Trophy as a development competition is to be deemed a success, they need more stories like this second day at Wantage Road when Charlie Thurston made 115, his maiden century for the club, and Ben Curran 82 as they responded to Glamorgan’s 259 with 288 for 5.Thurston and Curran have limited top-level experience but have been handed extended opportunities this season and both have looked comfortable in their first XI appearances but were in need of scores to underline their potential.So it would have been to the relief of the pair and the club – taking some flak for their results despite their stated intentions – that both delivered. They shared a second-wicket partnership of 176 as Northamptonshire finally realised runs from their top order.Thurston has been on the fringes at Northamptonshire for a few years after making a century against them for Loughborough MCCU in 2017, also at Wantage Road. He was handed county debuts in all three formats in 2018 but never a proper chance to launch his career.This has been his opportunity. According to a report from GIVEMESPORT, Man Utd are keen on signing Morten Hjulmand this summer.
It’s reported that the Dane is a “priority target” for the Red Devils as they look to bolster their midfield.

Having only signed for Sporting last season, Hjulmand’s contract doesn’t expire until 2028, meaning that the club sees him as part of their future.
However, “a big fee” will be required if United do wish to go ahead with a move for the player who’s been on their radar for a while.
Why Hjulmand could be incredible alongside Mainoo
Kobbie Mainoo was simply unbelievable last season in each of his 35 appearances during his breakthrough campaign.
Canning described the youngster as a “generational talent,” and it’s difficult to disagree, based on the influence he’s had on Erik ten Hag’s side. He's even earned himself a call-up for England's provisional squad for the Euros. Not bad work for a player who's only been playing senior football a matter of months.
The 19-year-old is the future of the Red Devils, the type of profile that Ratcliffe will look to build around, and Hjulmand could just be the perfect partner for the Englishman.
Just like Mainoo, the 24-year-old has been a key player for his side despite only coming into the fold last summer, making 49 appearances across all competitions.

As you can see, Hjulmand is much closer to Casemiro than Mainoo in terms of his profile, sitting slightly deeper and protecting the backline.
This is where his first strength comes into the equation, as in the eyes of journalist Zach Lowy, he is a "monster" defensively, notably in regards to his ability to recover possession.
Casemiro also thrives during similar tasks, but the difference between the two is that Hjulmand is far less reckless, and “he's not too aggressive to the point that makes him rash or pulls him out of position,” as per analyst Ben Mattinson.
Unfortunately, this is one of Casemiro’s biggest downfalls, and he no longer has the athleticism to track back with ease, as shown in the fact that he's dribbled past 2.2 times per game.
The United number 18’s defensive statistics are superior to Hjulmand’s, but that’s to be expected when the latter plays in a side with much more possession, as well as his more disciplined approach.
The security of Hjulmand and Mainoo would help United’s defence be far more secure, while the introduction of the former Lecce player would also bring the best out of the English ace because of his technical ability.
Unlike the 32-year-old, Sporting’s maestro is far less wasteful with the ball, which would enable the Red Devils to have more control of the ball, in turn allowing Mainoo to work his magic more frequently.
Overall, the signing of Hjulmand has the potential to transform United’s midfield, and if Ratcliffe can sell Casemiro as well, he'd be making an incredibly smart decision.

وأشارت إلى أن دور محمد صلاح الأساسي هذا الموسم تحت قيادة المدرب آرني سلوت، وتأثيره على البقاء في صدارة الدوري الإنجليزي ودوري أبطال أوروبا، دفع إدارة ليفربول إلى تفهم الوضع ونتج عن ذلك تقديم عرض جديد.
وأكدت أن الدوري السعودي ينتظر ما قد يحدث، حيث كانوا هكذا بالفعل منذ الصيف الماضي، ولكن في الوقت الحالي يتراجع احتمال وصول محمد صلاح إلى دوري روشن للمحترفين بسبب اقترابه من تجديد عقده مع ليفربول.

Manchester United are stepping up their chase for a new striker this summer, and have already had an answer back as they look to land one of their targets.
Hojlund needs support
Signed by Erik ten Hag last summer, Rasmus Hojlund enjoyed a mixed first season at Old Trafford. The Dane enjoyed a purple patch in the middle of the campaign, but suffered poor runs either side, with nine of his 12 Premier League goal contributions coming in a seven week stint between December and February.

Still just 21-years-old, he was often asked to plough a lonely furrow but showed plenty of promise. However, he is now the only recognised striker on the Manchester United books after Anthony Martial confirmed his departure as a free agent this summer.
It has left the Red Devils in need of a new striker, and they were dealt a blow on that front when target Benjamin Sesko signed a new deal to keep him at RB Lezipig this summer, scuppering any hopes of luring him to Old Trafford.
As a result, they have been forced to look elsewhere, and with new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe keen to avoid past mistakes, they are on the hunt for a younger player who can share the role with Hojlund and who will offer fewer fitness issues than Martial, all while demanding a reasonable salary.
United handed answer over 21 year-old
That comes as Sports Bild have revealed (via Sport Witness) that United are one of the sides keen on 21-year-old attacker Maximilian Beier, who is also thought to be attracting attention from Bayer Leverkusen and Liverpool.
The Hoffenheim youngster enjoyed a breakout campaign, scoring 16 times in 33 outings across the German top flight last season, and was rewarded with a call up to the German national side, making his debut in the most recent round of June internationals and doing enough to earn a spot in the squad for the upcoming EURO 2024 in his home country.
Hoffenheim’s sporting director, Alexander Rosen, has heavily praised the youngster, claiming that: “Maxi Beier is a super guy and an extremely talented striker. He is incredibly fast, dangerous and can kick really well.”
And United have made the 'first move' for his signature this summer, it has been claimed, with the Red Devils asking Hoffenheim what terms would be required to sign the rising star.

And they already have a response too, with Hoffenheim reportedly pointing to his 32.5m euro (£27.4m) release clause as a guide price to snatch him away this summer. He will be cheaper next summer, with said clause believed to drop by 2.5m euros every summer across the three remaining years of his £16k per week deal with the German outfit.
As with summer tournaments, a strong performance at EURO 2024 could see a rush of clubs join the queue for his signature, which may leave United wanting to get a deal done sooner rather than later if they are serious about their interest.
